Your Health Matters! Our Orlando HIV Treatment Staff Cares
July 10, 2023Grab your sparklers and head over to our Tampa LGBTQ health clinic! We’d love to show you all the services we provide to our community.
We opened our Harmony Healthcare Orlando clinics because we saw the growing need for an inclusive healthcare environment. Our caring staff aims to improve the health of the community by promoting understanding, respect, and integrity. Together, we can bridge gaps in care and positively impact people’s lives. Here’s what you’ll find when you visit our Tampa LGBTQ health clinic.
A Welcoming Environment
When you come to any of our clinics, our friendly staff will greet you with a smile and show you to a private room. There, our healthcare team will discuss any concerns you may have and suggest avenues of care. We are a judgment-free zone and welcome all members of our community seeking medical advice, care, or testing options.
STI Testing
Our mission is to educate our community on the importance of getting tested and make it simple to get it done. We follow CDC guidelines and recommend that anyone who is sexually active gets tested for STIs at least once a year. Getting tested is part of a comprehensive healthcare strategy, and we want to ensure that everyone has access to reliable and convenient testing options.
Our Tampa LGBTQ health clinic offers testing for:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- Syphilis
- Herpes
- Hepatitis C
- HIV
- And others
Getting tested even if you feel well is important because many STIs can be present without symptoms.
STI Treatment
If a test reveals that treatment is your next step, we’re here for you! Just like testing, treatment for an STI is another part of your healthcare journey, and we can lock arms with you through the process. The good news is most STIs can be cured with treatment. Those that can’t be cured can be well controlled with the proper medication.
Most STIs are treated with either antibiotics or antiviral medications. Our dedicated healthcare team will provide ongoing support and guidance to monitor your progress and assist you in achieving your best health.
PrEP And PEP
PrEP, short for pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a daily medication designed to prevent HIV infection. When taken consistently, PrEP serves as a highly-effective method of HIV prevention from sexual activities or drug use by blocking the virus from establishing and spreading in the body. If you are at risk of getting HIV, let’s discuss this preventative treatment option.
Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) involves the use of antiretroviral medicines (ART) after a potential exposure to HIV to prevent infection. It is crucial to initiate PEP within 72 hours of a recent possible exposure to HIV to maximize its effectiveness. If you think you may have been exposed to HIV, we need to discuss starting this medication right away.
Non-Medical Services
To fully serve our community, we offer many services beyond medical care. When you visit our Tampa LGBTQ health clinic, our team can assist you in finding resources such as food assistance, public support programs, employment opportunities, and financial aid. We also offer transportation services and telehealth options for those who need help making it to our facilities.
