We know the decision to follow through with screenings for STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) can be a challenging but necessary call to make. The mission of our Harmony Healthcare Orlando team is to provide you with the resources and services you need to take charge of your health.
STI screening is an essential step in treating, preventing, and protecting against the most common STIs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and syphilis. You can rest assured that our talented team of caring medical professionals is here to help you through the entire STI testing process.
You may have additional questions about STI screening and testing. To help you prepare, here are the answers to some of the most common FAQs from our Harmony Healthcare Orlando STI testing clinic:
Screening and services at the Harmony Healthcare Orlando STI testing clinic are available to our patients and community at no cost. STI testing from other providers nationwide may be free or reduced for patients with insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or other government programs.
At our STI testing clinic, appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are always welcome. Our team wants to make STI screening and testing as available and accessible as possible for our patients. If you would like to make an appointment, give us a call!
We welcome both insured and uninsured individuals for STI testing at any of the Harmony Healthcare Orlando clinics. If you don’t have insurance, you only need to be 18 or older and have your photo ID. However, check on insurance needs with your healthcare provider before STI testing at any other medical site.
Standard STI testing requires sending samples to a lab, and results are typically available in 7-10 business days, however, sometimes they may take up to 2 weeks. Most rapid testing will take up to 20 minutes to view results.
At Harmony Healthcare Orlando, each patient receives specialized care and treatment on a case-by-case basis, including the availability of medical and non-medical case managers on-site. Our clinic provides medical care for many STIs, including specialized treatment for Hepatitis C and HIV. Additionally, PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis) and PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) medication are available through our Orlando STI testing clinic.
Many STIs do not have symptoms initially. For this reason, regular STI testing is key to treating and preventing many of these infections. While STI testing should be a key component of sexual health, there may be a need to test more regularly depending upon your sexual activity, medical history, symptoms, or doctor recommendation.
Take charge of your health now with the help of our caring and expert team of medical professionals. We want to support you in charting the best course for a healthy future! How can we help?
